Nigerian Dwarf Goats

Originating in West Africa, the Nigerian Dwarf is a miniature dairy goat the produces less milk and meat than a full-size breed, but it is ideal for a small family with a small backyard. It is smaller than a Pygmy and has long legs, a longer neck, and shorter, finer hair. They are lean and angular, with faces that are flat to slightly dished. The dwarf has smaller teats than a full-size goat, making it difficult for someone with large hands to milk, and because it is lower to the ground, milking requires a smaller pail that fits underneath the goat. A Dwarf yields about 300 quarts, or 600 pounds of milk per year, which is one-third the amount you would get from a regular –sized goat. Nigerian Dwarfs come in all colors. Mature does weigh 30 to 50 pounds and stand about 22 inches high. They make great pets and are a lot of fun to watch.

We currently own 6 does, 2 castrated bucks, and one breeding buck. Please check our For Sale page for any available Nigerian Dwarf Goats!
